Demolition Debris Recycling
Grasan recycling systems for C&D (construction and demolition) debris
consist of a high-capacity diesel or electric powered KR1315 or KR1515 impactor crushing
plant with side discharge conveyor, inclined screen plant, return conveyor and radial
stacking conveyors for stockpiling crushed materials. Most of the equipment is road
portable.
The crusher can be either a Hazemag APSE impactor or the
hydraulically-operated APPH impactor for the 15%-20% greater crushing capacity and greater
size control of recycled products. Both impactors are designed specifically for crushing
concrete and asphalt rubble and C&D debris.
The main difference between C&D
recycling and normal concrete recycling is that the incoming
C&D rubble usually contains materials such as wood, asphalt
shingles, drywall, plaster, plastic, steel, paper, dirt, and
electrical wire. The system can be equipped with picking stations
to remove many of the unwanted materials by hand. Other important
options include a wood shredder, a low-maintenance air sorting
tower to segregate wood from stone, an electromagnetic separator
to remove ferrous metals, and water-based dust suppression
at locations such as the feed hopper, screen plant, and fines
conveyor to minimize emissions.
Electric power can be supplied by a diesel generator
housed in a 40 ft. trailer. Grasan can supply all wiring and manual or computerized
control systems.
